Spring Classes are Coming Soon
|
Message from Lorraine:
I'm here in beautiful sunny California and Holly is holding the fort at home. Drop in classes have been running bi-weekly on Monday and Tuesday evenings while I've been away and Holly has been making sure anyone needing supplies is able to get them - thank you Holly. I'll be back in Alberta on March 7th and regular classes will resume on Monday, March 8th - it will be good to be home and back to work.
Wednesday and Thursday Ladies
The first project in 2010 will be Shara Reiner pillows - March 10th and 11th. These will likely take two 3 hour classes to complete (see photos). Painters may do whichever they like, do both or finish up a project if preferred:
- Friendship Pillow and Angel Pillow
- Patterns are $10.95 each – if you’d like a copy please reserve one soon so I can get more if needed.
- These pillows are hand made by Eileen Cadiz and are beautiflully done with a side zipper and work just fine with a pillow form from Fabricland or you could recycle one of your old pillows that has past its day. They are 15x15 and I've painted both of them on this size (see photos below) and they worked out just fine. Please contact me at elf@heartsdelightedm.com to reserve one for you at the cost $15.95 or choose your own surface.

Other things that are new in the painting world:
- Feb. 21 – 26, 2010 Vegas Painting Convention – see www.vegaspaint.com for more info.
- March 8, 2010 Regular classes commence at Heart's Delight – watch for updates.
- April 27 – May 2, 2010 Coast to Coast Creative Arts Convention, Mississauga, Ontario. I'll be teaching at this one and will be sharing a booth with Doxie Keller. For more information go to www.c2cevents.com.
- May 18 – 22, 2010 Society of Decorative Painters Convention, Wichita, Kansas.
- August 9 – 14, 2010 HOOT, Heart of Ohio Painting Convention, see www.heartofohio.org for more info.
- Sept. 9 – 12, 2010 Paint in Alberta, Calgary, AB I'm submitting to teach at this convention and will be sharing a booth with Doxie Keller – she's lots of fun to take a class from so register early once the program book is out – likely around April 2010.
- Sept. 22 – 27, 2010 Northwest Toleliners Painting Convention, Seattle, Washington
Here are some new designs that I've done - some will be available at the studio and some will come out at Paint in Alberta 2010 in Calgary:
Four Seasons - Four Patches - One Bag All Buttoned Up for Winter, Autumn Harmony, Spring Flight and Summer Sign! Patches are 9x9 canvas with Velcro on the back. Denim market bag is 15x15x4 and has Velcro on the front - so easy to change as the seasons come and go. The bags and patches were designed and sewn by Eileen Cadiz and are available at Heart's Delight at a cost of $19.95 for a bag plus one patch and additional patches are available at a cost of $3.95 each. Patterns are also available at a cost of $8.95 each. |
|
Designs can also be painted on the surface of your choice.
Autumn Harmony also looks great on the Microfibre bags shown below. These bags were designed and sewn by Holly Fletcher. They are fully lined with a linen fabric with microfibre on the outside. They have a pocket on the outside on the back - perfect for your passport, they have two pockets on the inside and there is enough room for a water bottle, pocket book, wallet and a few small personal items - this one is going to be my favorite travel bag.
Bags are available at Heart's Delight at a cost of $24.95 each or 2 for $45.00. Patterns are also available for these designs at $6.95 each.

Another beautiful sturdyt market bag by Elieen Cadiz this one is canvas and measures 16x16x4. We've painted the Hot Chicks design by Doxie Keller on this one and I've designed "Summer is Magical" - whimisical and a lot of fun to paint. This bag is available at Heart's Delight at a cost of $19.95 each. The pattern won't be available until after Coast to Coast in April 2010 in Mississauga, Ontario.
The Pumpkin Patch - I've finally begun to design other seasons for our glass blocks. One base and as many glass blocks as you wish. Glass blocks are available at your local hardware store and although I used to be able to get them for about $5 or $6 they now run around $8 each. I also have the ability to drill a hole in the back now and sell these at the studio for $13.95 each. The pattern packet for this design is available at a cost of $7.95 each.
