Heart's Delight, Creations by elf
Update January 18,
2012

My name is Lorraine Fletcher and I own and operate Heart's Delight, a wonderful  decorative painting studio  that's a great place for people come to paint and play.  I'm so proud to say that it's a full service painting studio located about 10 minutes east of Sherwood Park that takes up the entire lower level of my home.  The classroom is in a sunny bright atrium with 22' ceilings and lots of windows.  I also have an overflow classroom, sink room, private washroom for students,  and a separate room where I sell art supplies. Painters come to paint and play here Monday evenings and Wednesday and Thursday mornings and for some weekend seminars.  All skill levels are welcome.

In addition to the usual brushes, Americana and JoSonja paints, canvas and numerous other surfaces I am now selling some of JoSonja's brushes, her newest line - the Sabelon is fantastic, durable and wonderful for doing those "dreaded strokes".  I'm also carrying Possibilities, Sure Touch, Pointed Blenders, Dome Blenders and Scrubbers.

This photo is of the main classroom.  There is also
an overflow classroom, a store and a sink room.

Regular classes are as follows:

Monday evenings - Open class from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Class fee is $16 and includes paints used in class.  Painters work on their individual projects with my guidance and assistance.

Wednesday mornings - Open class from 9 a.m to noon.  Class fee is $16 and includes paints used in class.  Occasionaly we choose a project to paint together, such as this tall snowman - what a hoot - a fun paint and an easy Christmas project.  The cost of the wood is $21.95 and we completed all the painting including crackling in one class.

Fall Pumpkin in Oils - design by Cheri Rol

Thursday morning open class, 9 a.m. to noon. Class fee is $16 and paints used in class are included.  Painters work on their own projects and we often pick a project to work on together.

PROJECT CLASSES in the spring will include

We will be working on the background Friday night using Liquin so the surface will be almost dry on Sunday when we will paint the pumpkin and leaves.  Class fee is $60 and will include an 8x10 masonite panel. This is an insert so panels can be changed out or turned around as you choose. I don’t have the cost of the frame as yet but should have it before the class. This could also be done larger or on a canvas.

many of the Gingerbreads and Teddy bears all done up on wreaths- so cute
    Arlene Linton - Simply Frames

Some fun pattern packets (and lots more for sale)

Holly Hanley Pattern Packets:
    Snowflake Collector Glass Block
    Merry Kiss Me Plate

             This is so darn adorable!!!

Candyland Glass Block & Christmas Card

Another good choice for the glass block beginner class.

New Wood
Now that I have a local wood cutter the sky is the limit.  I am able to get laser cut ornaments as well as stools, benches, mail boxes, chairs, keepsake boxes - anything I want for a class is available to us.

Baltic birch panel with a scroll”frame or“overlay - my favorite new surface, this is a 1/8th”scroll that frames the painting. It comes in square, rectangular and oval and various sizes and is perfect for many designs with the cost being a fraction of actual framing.

Jamie Mills Price - Seasons in Time Arch Frame and Panels these are fabulous. The cost is $29.95 and it comes with a base with two slots in it, two background inserts (paint on both sides), four arches and four scroll cut vines and everything can be stored all on the base with the appropriate season in the front. I’m so happy I’ve found them in Canada and can order more if needed.
