About the Artist - Lorraine Fletcher
I was born and raised in Edmonton and up until 2004 was juggling my painting with a full time job and family. When I found myself to be painting and teaching more than I was working at my day job I made a decision to devote myself full-time to my passion. Now my husband and I live in the Ardrossan area on four acres, where he is occupied with his “heart’s delight” - restoring vintage cars - and I am busy painting in my studio.

From the beginning I've been taking classes from designers and going to conventions such as Coast to Coast in Missisauga, ON, Paint in Alberta, Calgary, AB, the Society of Decorative Painters, Creative Painting in Vegas and most recently, at the Northwest Toleliners in Seattle. I've also studied several times with JoSonja Janzen at her studio in Eureka, CA - always learning new techniques and working hard to improve my skills so that I can pass on my knowledge to my students. I've had the good fortune to teach my own designs at the following painting conventions:
- Coast to Coast, Mississauga, Ontario
- Paint in Alberta, Calgary, Alberta and
- SDP 2008 in Tampa, Florida.
I've also had several designs published in Coup de Pinceau, a French Canadian decorative painting magazine that's published here in Canada and is now being distributed in English in Western Canada - look for Painting Passion wherever magazines are sold.
It's hard work but it's my passion - and it's my Heart's Delight".
