About the Artist - Lorraine Fletcher
I was born and raised in Edmonton and up until 2004 was juggling my painting with a full time job and family. When I found myself to be painting and teaching more than I was working at my day job I made a decision to devote myself full-time to my passion. Now my husband and I live in the Ardrossan area on four acres, where he is occupied with his “heart’s delight” - restoring vintage cars - and I am busy painting in my studio.

From the beginning I've been taking classes from designers and going to conventions such as Coast to Coast in Missisauga, ON, Paint in Alberta, Calgary, AB, the Society of Decorative Painters and Creative Painting in Vegas - always learning new techniques and working hard to improve my skills so that I can pass on my knowledge to my students. Since then I've had the good fortune to be able to teach at Coast to Coast in 2006 and 2007, I will be teaching at Paint in Alberta in 2007 and I've had a design accepted to teach at SDP 2008 in Tampa, Florida.
I've also had four designs published in Coup de Pinceau, a French Canadian decorative painting magazine that's published here in Canada and is distributed in Eastern Canada and France - and I'm hopeful they will begin printing in English soon so that it will be available in Western Canada.
It's hard work but it's my passion - and it's my Heart's Delight".
